Good Questions: Making Heirloom Rocker More Comfy?

Elizabeth writes: I have a self-proclaimed "Good Question" that I hope someone can help me with. My husband and I inherited his Grammy's antique, white rocking chair (similar to the picture attached) when she passed away last year. It's a beautiful family heirloom, rocks well and is in great shape. Thankfully, it's not too "frilly" for my minimalist, modern taste. I'd like to incorporate it into our new baby's nursery but the thought of late-night feedings in it makes me ache! It's hard wood and it needs some cushions...

...and the only thing that comes to mind when I think of that are ruffled 80's versions my mother tied onto ours when I was younger. Any good suggestions of how to make this more comfortable and pretty? Thanks!
