Caila is looking for some bedding suggestions. She writes:I'm 7 months pregnant and in the middle of decorating my first childs nursery. As you can see from my pictures, his room has a modern vintage feel. I've picked out bedding for the crib (golds, grays, and blues) but I am having a hard time finding bedding for the twin bed that we are keeping in his room. There are a lot of browns, greys, greens, and blues in his room... I was thinking along the lines of a stripe. Problem is finding it!

It's so hard when you have an idea of what you want in your head! I would greatly appreciate some suggestions! I don't even know where to begin to look other than the obvious department stores!
Please share your suggestions for twin size bedding with Caila in the comments below - thanks!

This room suggests Calvin Klein bedding to me:

Don't know if that is what you are after...
(just a word of advice: that floor lamp will be a hazard when he starts to move around -- he'll try to pull himself up on it, push it, etc. )
Here's a stripe from Pottery Barn - http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p8520/index.cfm?pkey=cstriped-duvet-covers-shams
I also think a simple plain blue would be lovely. Maybe tufted. And that crib is just beautiful!
Love this room, very calm and peaceful. Maybe just do up the twin bed in all white, crisp, clean and fresh. Then some soft, fuzzy and friendly pillows and/or stuffed animal friends.
I was thinking of the draper stripe from Dwell Studio, but realized i'm not sure it comes in twin. http://www.unicahome.com/p36501/dwellstudio/draper-stripe-bedding-by-dwellstudio.html?bcsi_scan_4084C5AB3DBD951A=W4FNZQLeFE EuHwLm9jb5QEAAAD/B/4A&bcsi_scan_filename=draper-stripe-bedding-by-dwellstudio.html
Another source would be to look at Target and specificlly the DwellStudio line which has a lot of the colors you're using.
I would go onto westelm.com and get a nice modern chocolate bedspread and just use crisp white sheets.
beautiful room!
:-)
I too thought of Calvin Klein for linens in this room (and Donna Karen too). Also, Crate & Barrel has TONS of bedding in those colors and particularly some of the Marimekko patterns would coordinate very well with the patterns and textures you already have in the room.
That is a beautiful crib, where did you get it?
I'm curious about the twin bed. That's exactly what I want for my daughter's room. Is it vintage? If so, how did you determine if the finish/paint was safe?
(I have written in a couple of times, but, quite frustratingly, my question about the safety of paint on vintage iron beds has not been deemed a "good question.")
You are off to a great start and the nursery is beautiful - best of luck to you.
I second that question on safe paint on the iron bed and also wonder if you or anyone else has determined if there's a safe size/spacing for iron bed rails. My MIL offered us a similar bed, but I'm afraid of the little one catching his head or hands...
the room is gorgeous ... and I alway find it interesting when people feel the need to criticize on these posts - - im sure the parent thought about the lamp for when the baby starts to move around!!!
and for bedding I think a ticking in gray and white with white sheets would be just the fit! something from toast would be perfect http://www.toast.co.uk/category/bedlinen/bedlinen.htm
Maybe something like this in brown:

The room looks fabulous by the way - love the colours.
Best of luck!
Re: crib: It's a Corsican Kids 1682 Classic Iron Crib. Comes in different finishes.
Re: determining if paint is safe: you can buy a lead paint test kit. I forget the brand we bought, but they are fairly easy to learn about and buy online. We tested the bed we bought from overseas, as well as toys.
@ thelittlestchicken: because it is a new crib, this crib meets current American safety guidelines for both paint and rail spacing. I remember when I was looking for a crib, this particular manufacturer was not available for purchase in Canada because their products did no meet the more stringent Canadian guidelines (don't know if that has changed in the intervening 5 years). Vintage cribs should never be used for a baby because the rail spacing would not meet current requirements, and would be a hazard (the paint issue would be easy to fix). Vintage iron cribs (which this is not) tend to be used for display purposes in stores.
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. I just got started on this room, so I barely have the bones yet! Most of you seem to understand the direction I am going in- I his room to be very grown up and peaceful.
As far as the furniture goes, everything is new(er) and complies with all safety issues, with exception of the rails on the twin side bed. Thank you for being concerned and I am aware that this room will be doing a lot of changing to appease a growing boy (this includes the lamp, as well).
I am extremely impressed that @mschatelaine knew what the crib was called. Someone has done their homework :) I got my heart set on an iron crib when someone sent me a very ornate "pumpkin carraige" link as a joke. If you were to look them up, even the simplest iron crib cost thousands of dollars (I think mine is listed for $1600). I was so dead set on one tho, that I looked for months and finally found one being sold at a consignment shop. Just goes to show ya- be patient, it's out there!
Thank you again for all the suggestions and compliments. I definately welcome more! You can't tell from the pictures, but his room already feels so relaxing and perfect... I know it will all come together in time.
I second the Marimekko suggestion -- a few good twin-size options at Crate & Barrel online:

Also in their outlet:

I hope you send photos of the finished room to post here! Congratulations on your upcoming delivery.
:)
A few doctors told me that the lead paint test kit was wrong 50% of the time. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a very accurate way of testing paint/toys/cribs, etc.
wow. mere1975 did a great job finding the grey stripe from the crate and barrel outlet. i think that would be perfect, so this one gets my vote:

i asked about the paint safety, so thanks so much to all who replied.
Cute room. I love the color scheme and the rug. Here are a few cute bedding sets I found that seem to go with the look you want:

Just as I was about to post, I realized this was posted in July, so you probably alread have found what you wanted. Anyway, in case anyone else wants ideas in the same color scheme, here it is.
