Hello AT,

I'm the guy who had his sofa butchered by New York Couch Doctor (grrr) to get it into his apartment.

After I've eventually moved out of my current place, I'd like to get a top notch furniture restorer/upholsterer to fix the wood frame and the leather upholstery and padding, once and for all (and never have to cut my sofa open again). Here is my sofa, it's an Anthropologie cotswold cottage leather sofa.

I know New York must be full of extremely meticulous furniture craftsmen. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jonathan

Dear Jonathan,

What bad news! Perhaps the tight leather and tucked style of your sofa were the wrong mix for the sofa surgeon. We have heard good things about these services in general.

Do you mean Dr. Sofa or someone else? We don't know the New York Sofa Doctor.

As for repair, we would check in with our list of upholsterers for a good referral. We also note that Dr. Sofa (if that is NOT the person you already hired) practices furniture repair and you should definitely check with The Unique Furniture Service.

Anyone else?
