Hello AT,
We're looking to redo this sling-back chair in either leather (preferred) or canvas (which it currently is). Can anyone point us in the direction of an upholsterer that would be right for the job? And would we need to provide them the leather/fabric?
Thanks! Jamie

Dear Jamie,
You definitely should look for your own fabric, but all upholsterers will have a range that they sell.
This is not a big job, but it requires some tricky stitching - especially if it's leather. You are defintely going to have to call around.
We don't have a lot of recs, but we recommend hitting these people up first, and looking for leather at Libra Leather, which has some of the finest we've seen. They typically deal with designers and tradespeople, but tell them we sent you and you'll have good luck.
Anyone else??

It's a simple pattern, and I bet anyone qualified to fix a leather jacket could make it up from the canvas original.
So if you have a tailor . . .
if not, look one up in New York mag listings
How funny, we have this chair too! I love how it folds up perfectly in half.
HA! I have this chair too and i LOVE it!!!
i inherited it from my mom
this is the first apartment that I haven't had it in, it even travelled all through college with me from dorm to dorm
i would love to get mine recovered to, so please, please! keep me posted on your efforts!
Wow. Popular chair! So where is it from/who makes it? Friends gave ours to us but I don't know the origin.
