We got an email from Kathy: Hi AT! I am looking to buy a small loveseat for my apartment. I really like the look (and price) of Nate Berkus' Studio Sofa sold on HSN. However, I'm a little unsure of buying a sofa that I can't try out in person first...

There are only two reviews of the product on the HSN website and while they are both positive, I would like some more opinions on it! Have any of the readers bought this sofa and could give me some advice on the comfort and quality of the piece?
Can anyone help Kathy out with a review of this piece or others from the Berkus HSN line?

Oooh, I have it in the off-white cream color. I love it! Especially the cute little legs that are usually found on high end pieces double or triple the price. I find it to be very comfy, the seats are deep and roomy. But I was coming from a small black leather midcentury modern loveseat that was not at all cozy, so I guess it depends on what you were used to sitting on before. Two things I didn't know when I ordered it. First, it comes in two pieces, so assembly is required, though no special tools are needed. That being said it is very sturdy and not at all wobbly or anything like some assembled furniture can be. And secondly, the back cushions are not removable, they are sewn on to the back of the sofa. It doesn't really matter to me, but just a random tidbit.
Here are some actual in home photos:

I have this sofa in pewter velvet and love it. I was worried about the quality of the velvet because it is such a reasonably priced couch, but it looks and feels great. It took about 20 minutes to assemble and it's definitely sturdy. It also came within a week of me ordering it. Perfect for a small studio like mine, or just a small space. Everyone agrees it's comfortable and looks great!
This sofa, though lovely, has a weight limit of 250 lbs. I wouldn't even be able to sit with my husband on this and we are both slender! Definitely something to keep in mind...
thanks for the comments! I might go ahead and get it. It's good to know that it's sturdy, despite being assembled furniture... that was definitely part of my concern! As far as the weight limit, its more secondary seating and I doubt will have more than one person sitting on it as a time, so it should be ok.
I might go ahead and get it too!
Do you think this piece could be "beefed up" somehow to support more weight? I love this style and price but agree that a 250 lbs weight limit is quite low. I'd like to use this item at my dining table and need it to seat two. If not, does anyone know of a similar styles at a reasonable price?
can anyone tell me what the seating height is for the Nate Berkus loveseat? I'm thinking about incorporating this piece into a kitchenette banquet seating I want to create with my existing round dining table. Any other thoughts on using this piece in a dining area would be appreciated!
