Q: Do you have any suggestions for a sturdy ( yet not very expensive) table and chair set for young kids to sit at when they draw and paint? I need to seat 6 kids between ages 2-6. I'm open to using one or two tables. if there's good Ikea suggestions, that's great too. A non-skid surface ( not a shiny laminate) is ideal...

I know someone who uses multiple Lack side tables from Ikea in her home preschool. She shoves them in a cluster during mealtimes, pulls them individually for center time, uses smaller clusters for arts and crafts, etc. I believe she has 10 of them in her house. She has 5 kids come regularly.
I just bought the IKEA SVALA table and chair set for my almost-2-year-old. I'm really happy with it. (And she loves it.) I'm not sure I would be comfortable with LACK tables because of the sharpish edges.

Check out this tutorial....perfect. At IKEA you can choose any table top size you want and any leg size you want.

Wow, paintchips, what a great idea! I wish I had seen this earlier. I love the space you created for your kids.
@tdog17--Thank you. It's been fun, they are really enjoying the space!
