Hi AT SF, I just bought this dining room table for my new apartment, but don't like the chairs that they had to offer in the store. I would love to find chairs elsewhere that match, but I'm clueless as to how to even go about figuring out what will look right...
...I'd like the chairs to be on the cheap side (under $100 per chair), since I'll probably need to get 6 of them. I'd also be open to doing 2 chairs with arms for the ends and 4 others for the middle of the table - any ideas are appreciated!
Thanks!
-Caitlin

The table is quite simple, modern and classical at the same time. Actually, I think almost any style would do, as long as it matches the rest of the room.
I LOVE my Kyoto dining chairs from DWR. They go on sale from time to time and are easy to clean, simple, and durable. Oh, and comfy! You may be able to find them from someone other than DWR as their shipping and handling prices can be steep!
That's so funny, I have dining chairs but no table. I was looking at the same exact table at Dania to go with the black bent plywood chairs.
My dining chairs look like these without the knotches in the lumbar area:
West Elm T chair
I have a similiar colored table and I got the Borje chairs from Ikea, and reupholstered the seats in a modern fabric to break up all the dark wood.

I was just looking at chairs on overstock.com - they have a bunch of interesting ones.

I have an earlier version of this table (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=884&f=6854) and chairs kind of like this (http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=115&f=4202&viewall=1) but curvy, crate and barrel discontinued them.
I didn't like the chairs that came with the table and I think the dark wood and the natural look good together. I played around with a lot of chair/table combinations at the store.
my advice--go for a different wood tone. you will probably not be able to perfectly match a dark chair to the dark table, especially if you get it from a different store, and it will look accidentally mismatched, but if you go with a different tone or color, it will look intentional.
Keep a modern contempory look in the chair---perhaps in a very deep rust color or bright crome and very black leather.
Those same chairs in the photo in deep rust would be nice if you could get them. I have seen them in deep red at times.
The table looks trad., so I would go with modern.
I found the dining chairs here at High Fashion Home.
