Bed Rails for Non-Toddler beds

Good Questions

Q: I have a burning question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I have an almost 3-year-old boy who I am looking to transition into his "big boy" bed. This bed has been been in his room since birth, but the problem is that it is is a wood platform bed from Ikea (adult) that I made over. Does anyone know of a bed rail that would work on this type of bed. Ikea said it is too thick for the ones that come on their toddler beds. I'm worried that I might have to build my own, but I'm not sure I want to take on that type of project. Help! (note the headboard is now cut to size and affixed to the frame.)

Editor: My first thought is to look into bed rails designed for the elderly. Readers - can you help Robin?
