Do you remember seeing wood end tables that were basically a thick open box, all wood veneer (macassar?) except for the inside of the openings, which were lacquered various solid colors? I remember a bright coral red, and an all-white interior, but having trouble remembering where I saw them...
Link To All Good Questions
Dear P2, We don't remember this, but hope someone does... The first shop that comes to mind however is Eboniste, which does this kind of thing. They don't seem to have the colored interiors, however. We think the use of the word "macassar" is right though, in terms of looking for that type of altered veneer. We did a little googling around and found one nice link to macassar tables that might lead you to the right place: Art Deco Collection.
