Hello AT,
I have a dilemma:I have the opportunity to adopt a "rain lamp" that was a fixture in my Aunt's home in the 70s and 80s. I have a guest bathroom (see pic below fold) that is very neutral- boring white with the exception of the marble counter on the vanity. Functional but uninspired...and not a space that's used often.
Attached are pics of the rain lamp and the bathroom. The overall look in the apartment is very "Brady Bunch". Is the rain lamp Hot? Is it worth developing a design around? If so, how over-the-top do I need to go? 70s bordello? Or should I just let it go?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey Shadd-If you are asking us if this is "Hot or Not" we'd vote not...sorry, that's just our personal opinion. We get the desire to work a room around the kitsch lamp, but we are not sure if the end result will be stylish as much as "personal-memory-specific".
However, if forced to meet the challenge, we'd blow out the room in a bold, glossy fuchsia pink (for real), hang a brown bamboo shade with valance (regardless!), and maybe find four good paint-by-numbers or some other fun art for the wall. We would stay away from anything too frilly because that’s what would make this lamp look like it's trying to be too “serious".
Anyone else?
