Good Questions: LA's Non-Tourist Hot-spots?

May 25, 2006

Hello AT,
Vacation emergency!! I need help! I'm flying out to L.A. tonight with my parents and younger sister from Minneapolis for a family gathering. We'll be in town for five days and I would LOVE any suggestions for places to visit: fun shops or boutiques, thrifty art galleries, must-see design stops. I'm terribly worried my family will fall into tourist traps, so I'd love to be armed with some interesting destinations. Thanks so much for any help!

Hey Marie- for us, LA's must-see spots are more about general areas than specific places. A walk along the beach... a Beverly Hills "shopping day" (not for buying stuff, but for people-watching!)... A walk along La Brea (for shopping andpeople watching)...a day in Silverlake/Los Feliz via a drive through Griffith Park... and as much Mexican food as you can get your hands on.

Now, lets open this one up to the crowd...
