Good Questions: Identify & Source this Tile?

If it's opaque with a sort of chalky looking striation, it might be slate. If it's more translucent than that, it might be a variety of marble or something similar. In any case, it looks like natural stone to me, meaning each piece is a little different, but going to a decent stone yard with the picture might solve the mystery.
hmmm...almost looks like something from Walker Zanger or Ann Sacks.
It's too uniform for slate or another natural stone.
I'd take the photo to Ann Sacks - and be prepared to spend through the nose if you really want it.
I can assure you that is not slate. Looks too modern for Walker Zanger or Ann Sacks but might be worth while asking them they may know the source.
Thank you. It's a small area (6x7) so even if it is pricey (not to crazy) we will probably go for it. We have a plan B if A is a no go.
Could it be crema marfil marble?

The picture is a bit hard to tell, but I think it's a natural stone of some kind...I know I've seen it or similar in homes and showrooms, but I have no idea what the name of it is. Some kind of marble or MAYBE a polished slate, although the veining in it strikes me more as marble.
Maybe this?

I would suggest taking the photo to a stone supplier and see what they can come up with. Not sure if Ennos the questioner is in the Chicago area but Damar in Northbrook has a HUGE showroom and a super helpful staff.
Looks like a vein cut marble to me. See Zanzibar

It is a natural stone polished tile -- to me, it looks like a marble. Try stone specialist stores -- you will never find this in a regular tile store (I doubt even Ann Sacks).

Something tells me the people in the building across the street are equally curious about this bathroom, but not so much for the tile.
Off topic - but how can you shower with anyone being able to see you completely nude?
Its a natural stone that can be sourced form Artistic Tile in the merchandise Mart or from The Fine Line on Illinois. You ca generally get in in many different sizes of planking.
this looks like a granite tile, very close to the color absolute black, any flooring store should have this, we have used this in our homes on floors, had a sharp clean edge which allows for very small grout lines
The veining seems to indicate a marble, and it could be one of the above-mentioned, as marble varies from batch to batch out of the quarry...
Definitely look into stone sources in your area. Some might even be able to order it for you, but you always want to request a current sample.
