Sarah's nursery is almost complete, but she's looking for fabric suggestions for curtains.
We just finished painting our nursery and I am looking for fabric for the curtains. We have a lot of color happening in the daybed, changing table and rugs. I LOVE prints but want to make sure I am not going overboard. Any suggestions?
Readers, let's get to work and help out Sarah!
In addition to the vibrant yellow walls and turquoise trim on the windows, Sarah's changing table is red and her daybed is green. She's also chosen a multi-colored potholder rug (love it!).
We also love prints and don't think Sarah needs to shy away from them. Even though she has incorporated several colors into the nursery, she should be able to find a print that will work with all of them.
One strategy is to pair prints from the same fabric line which usually ensures that the colors coordinate with each other (it can be very hard to match colors online). One print can be dominant while the other forms a border at the top, bottom or both.
Here are four that could be mixed and matched from the Katie Jump Rope line by Denyse Schmidt
Or you could try pairing the same print in different colorways like these, also by Denise Schmidt, in the Flea Market Fancy line.
Here are some other prints we like which feature yellow or would complement the other color you have used in the room:

Since your window sills are painted a contrasting color, you might consider making roman shades (like this woman) so you don't end up hiding the sills.
We hope these will get your juices flowing. Readers, what are your ideas?
