Hello AT,
Do you happen to know any places to find cool, modern planters? Large, small, anything would help!
Thanks, VB

Anyone???

Shaw's Original Fir...
Simple! DWR and the Conran shop. The Conran shop has really nice dark zinc colored BIG ones. (I use them as laundry bins).
Jamali gardens also has great ones, and you can browse online. It's cheap.

If you want modern as in mid-c modern, then ebay is good too.
I second Conran's and also suggest Ikea. Ikea has tons of outdoor items, the store has a great selection, many are quite excellent.
Walmart, of all places, has 10" plain bright white glazed ceramic pots with attached drip pans, and they are really inexpensive. I've got a jade plant in one of them now and it looks fantastic. It's kind of been my little secret, but I have to stop this greediness. :)
I love the bullet planters Hip Haven sells outta Austin, TX.

Here's some resources for ya:
First, there's the Bloom Lighted pots, they're quite interesting actually (and on sale)

Next, try browsing the pages of English Creek Gardens:

and the Lumi from Chiasso

I LOVE the white gloss midori planters and the Quadro planters at Sprout Home:

Smith + Hawken has a whole slew of planters:

Target has a ton of them (type in search word:
planter) http://www.target.com
Velocity has the Vessel Architectural Pottery that is TO DIE FOR (and it's expensive, but unaware of your budget, maybe you can go with one of these):

That's all I can think of all the top of my head. If more comes to me, I'll certainly post it. It's Friday night, time for happy hour. Have a great night!

Try also topdeq.com, search for "planters."
Those sprout planters are a-mazing. I've had good luck with Ikea, by the way, and have heard a lot about DIY planters lately (tea cups, bowls, mugs, etc). There seem to be two schools of thought about the DIY-- use as is (i.e. without drain holes) with gravel in the bottom and very careful watering or drill holes in the bottom.
Dang, where have you been the last two weeks. I had four modern plant holders on Craig's list I could barely give away. I finally pawned off three. I still have one of the metallic ones left. You're welcome to it for whatever you think it's worth. I'm not even looking to make money from it, just trying to give it a new home.

Just let me know if you're interested in the last metallic one.
Oh, and you can refrence the size by the standard book of matches sitting on the floor beside each pot.
Thanks everyone. I love the DWR new pots and Conrans, but unfortunatly DWR is backordered til September and the ones at Conran aren't pure white. Somehow they manage to have a creamy tint to them. Any other sources for bright white large pots?
Check out the planters at International Art Properties ( http://www.iapsf.com/planters.html ). All planters are available in white.

And, as always, IKEA + Target!!!!
Yard Art has some great modern planters. The are made from iron and you can get them in a natural rust or powder coating. And they will build them custom.

You've also gotta check out Urban Nature.
They sell amazing modern planters and are the best quality I seen to date. Also, they come in hard to find, large sizes and are equally lightweight and durable. Plus they do custom sizes as well!

The best and coolest planters. Hundreds of designs. You will love it. Handmade in The UK. I also know they are looking for agents in other countries.

This company makes gorgeous concrete planters, and they're really well priced (34$) for a handmade item.
