Do you know where one could find really good quality used file cabinets? I'm coveting a nice set of 4-drawer Art Deco Steelcase ones, or something similar from the time before computers, when they couldn't make paper fast enough to keep up with booming business (and bureaucracy!)

Bonus points if the store in question will a) refinish to order (I'm thinking gloss Chinese red or the suddenly omnipresent lime green) can b) deliver said refinished cabinets and is c) located in the East Bay or will deliver to the East Bay.

It just so happens that we've been carrying on an e-mail exchange with a company that does just what you're asking, Retro Office, located in LA. For a while it seemed they were opening a Bay Area outlet, but for now those plans seem to be on hold and they've chosen NY, Chicago, and Miami instead. They do ship, though, so you're in luck. (And if you have them refinish something for you, send us a picture!)
