Covers for Task Chair Casters?

Q: I know I saw info on a "cover" to fit on caster wheels on a rolling office chair in order to prevent ruining the hardwood floors. It was like a mitten/glove. Does this sound familiar? I hope you can help.

What you might want to do is change out the casters. Most seating manufacturers offer two types of casters hard and soft. For hard floors you should use soft casters. They are typically easy to switch out. You can call the manufacturer and ask for customer service for parts and they should be able to help you.

If the casters are for an actual Eames Aluminum Group chair, as per the picture, original replacements from Herman Miller cost an arm and a leg. Wanted to replace my carpet casters with the hard floor variety and was chocked by the quote i got. Was lucky enough to find a set of vintage ones, not sure if they are original though, that actually look better than the new ones do.
