I think the Ghost and Eiffel would be overkill. I would go with something in white leather or pleather with a tightly upholstered back and seat.

It is too bad that the Eames is not available in a clear plastic. Although I think the Eames a more durable chair, in this case, I would go with the Ghost. The practical modernism of the Eames does not go with the high style metal and glass elegance of the Platner table.

The Eames plastic Eiffel chairs would really go well with the architectural metal in the table. I would go with all white.

Of the two, the Louis Ghost Chairs - all in one color.

That said, I'd really rather see a set of real upholstered French chairs around this table - something like these:

I think the table base and the Eiffel chair bases would be way too much and would dilute the effect of either. Of these two options, I'd go with the Ghost. Maybe also look into the Globus:

Clear Louis Ghost chairs may end up looking washed out with this particular table. I've found that they look best with and neutralize heavier furniture. Try the black Louis Ghost chairs (they are stunning) or six white Panton chairs which would wrap around the table nicely.

As for the chairs, I'm a little spent on the ghost chair. After seeing them EVERYWHERE they seem a little tired. BUT, given those two choice I would opt for the ghost chair. The trouble for me personally is that the legs of the Eames Eiffel chair combined with the spokes of the dining table may look a bit overwhelming.

In my VERY humble opinion I would opt for a different chair entirely. Something that showcases the design of the Platner table but doesn't compete with it.

I don't think either. I like the bertoia chair with cushions with for this table. My grandmother had this table with French antique chairs in a med wood color I have a black and white photo looks great.

I think either of the two options suggested would look ok, if a bit under-scale. I really don't like either with this table for reasons that have already been mentioned (love the table though). I would look for something that echoes the curves of the table, maybe in wood or another non-metal. You might try black Cherner chairs.

My immediate reaction on reading this question, without having read any of the other responses, was that neither the Ghost or Eames Eiffel chair are a good match for this table.

The Platner table is a beautiful, elegant design which deserves to be the focus rather than competing for attention with other iconic designs like the Eames Eiffel. I also don't think a chair made predominantly of plastic would work without being made to look somewhat cheap when set against the glass and metal.

While I can't recommend a specific chair without seeing your dining room, my instinct would be to choose a metal or timber dining chair that is upholstered or has a fabric pad. (The Platner chairs that were designed along with the table are padded, after all.)

I really love how this table looks when it is paired with a set of more traditional/glamorous chairs.

I am confident that the allure of the table will survive long past the current mid-century fad. The chairs you have chosen on the other hand, probably won't. Just a thought.

The Eames and the Ghost chairs don't work with this table. It's MidC overkill and you don't want them to compete with the table.

I agree w/ prettypresley that you need something more substantial than the ghost chairs and that the eiffel chair base is problematic (too much wire on wire competition) but I'm not in love w/ her choices either. There is something about the enclosed square forms for legs that seems to me to be at odds with the round pedestal base. The table is lovely and feminine and could easily be paired w/ VERY traditional chairs. I think it would also look great w/ a monochromatic leather chair like the Mario Bellini Cab chair. Just my 2 cents.
