I'm thinking about trying to soundproof some of my apartment-- both floors and a wall that borders neighbors. They're not that quiet, but hey, neither am I and this would probably be good for both of us. I'm hoping you could help me come up with some solutions. I'm going crazy looking at a gaggle of products I know nothing about. Are there any easy solutions on the market or will I have to replace drywall for maximum efficiency?
We've featured a how to on soundproofing before, but they took permanent steps to soundproof their apartment for their resident musician. On Apartment Therapy, we found a discussion of soundproofing companies in New York, and the comments also give some good DIY solutions.
Does anyone have any tips on how to soundproof your apartment, particularly easy or non-permanent solutions for renters?
