Good Questions: Looking for Name of this IKEA Chair...

It has a rounded back, round seat, and blonde bentwood legs. I have 3 of these chairs, but would like to search for another one to "round" out my collection. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It's the FRIDENE swivel chair - made in 2005 but not currently available. eBay used to be a great source of slipcovers for the upholstered components of this chair but since it's not in current production I can't seem to find them anymore. I used to manage a retail store and these chairs were at one of the locations I ended up taking over. Unfortunately, the visual team offered them to the former and absolutely horrible manager, thinking no one else would want them. I was furious!

Such a cute chair. Why does IKEA torment me like this? Every so often, thier designers come up with something brilliant; then, they discontinue the item. I've been coveting a $99 clear, acrylic dining chair on bent, silvertone legs. It looks like lucite on chrome. I suppose I should go buy the chairs.

Planned obsolescence: That's how they get people to come in the store and buy more crap every year.

Sitcom's Komet has an dorable, tufted seat (one big button in the center) and great orange color. I have two, and I love them.

The IKEA chair is actually a pretty brazen knock-off of a Scandy design... forget which, but I'm sure it will come back to me a couple of weeks from now...

Same chair. I bought the orange one two years ago. Sitcom has since come out with the chocolate colored model at Urban Outfitters. $200 is a great price. I first saw it at a boutique for over $340. I paid closer to $240 online.

yes but urban doesn't have the tomato colored one right now. arg!

I just acquired 2 FRIDENE chairs that came with filthy beige slipcovers...took them off and the chairs are perfect...but can't find covers and don't know if I want to commit to custom. Any new leads?

I own two of these chairs and after lots of blood, sweat, and tears to get them...alas, they just don't work in my room :*( I'm in San Diego, if anyone is interested, I really want to see them go to a good home where they'll be appreciated. I have one in the blue and one in the tomato color and they're in great condition, just a small seam tear on the blue one which I haven't attempted to mend because of the nubby fabric. Perhaps some fabric fusion glue might do the trick?
