ATDC reader Carlos needs help picking fabric for some vintage chairs: "Hi ATDC, I got these lucite and Chrome-plated steel 1960's chairs on CRAIGSLIST which I'm thinking to put in my Dining room with my Docksta Table and two Red Panton chairs. I have to reupholster them since the fabric is kind of old and doesn't look good. I'd like to have some patterns or even a plain color, but I have no idea which one. Maybe a bamboo cane pattern? Plain Yellow? Help please!!!"

Carlos,
Love the new chairs! We think the fabric you choose will depend on the feeling you want in your room. Yellow would look great with the lucite back of these chairs, and will provide a high contrast with your red Panton chairs if that is the look you are hoping to achieve. A bamboo cane pattern would not be our top choice with the lines of that chair; we would recommend a more abstract pattern if you want a pattern.
Do our talented readers have any fabric recommendations for Carlos?

I'd keep my choice in a color that works with the grey lucite -- maybe a modern pattern that includes grey in the design. (A bamboo design would be too organic for the plastic chairs, in my opinion. Culture clash.)
If your other chairs are red, another option would be to use a matching red on these.
A solid in deep ochre yellow, maybe with a slight nubby texture.
I think bamboo would look kinda nice..in like black?
I feel like this is the twentieth time I've seen this question on AT. This week.
