Just call the features editor or managing editor at the magazine and ask them. Having worked in magazine publishing, you'd be surprised how nice it is to hear from a reader. If they don't have the answer, they can put you in contact with the author of the article or maybe even the owner.

Give it a try, its much better than trying to guess.

Note, however that all photographs go through massive color-correction and retouching, especially for covers. The ability to print colors in a magazine is much more limited than the actual paint color ranges, so don't be surprised if the actual color ends up being quite different in person.

You can also take the magazine to a Benjamin Moore store and use their colorimeter to match it to their closest color.

Love it too. It's very glossy. Need a really high end paint job for that level of gloss.

oops. the pic I 'linked' isnt the bedroom, is it? The bedroom pic looks blue to me...

The glossy look can be achieved with a high gloss polyurthane (hope I spelled that right:) I saw them do it on an episode of Debbie Travis. It's a lil tricky because once the wall is completely dried you need two people one to apply in small quantities with a roller the polyurth. and another to remove any bubbles with another brush. The results were stunning! They used this technique in their living area though not the bedroom. Also, I believe they did this procedure twice.

Not to hijack a thread,but if anyone knows a paint that would approximate the pale gray on the cover, I'd love to hear it.

Benj. Moore "Paper White" is actually a very pale gray in the correct lighting. But buy a $4 sample and test it first.

Remember though, this apartment is in London, so it was probably painted with a paint manufactured in the UK--and you'll want to know whether they used "emulsion" or not--can never remember if that means "oil" or what.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I contacted the interior designer via email. I received the following response "Dear Robyn, Sorry the color was a custom mix and there is no number we can give you." So I guess, that's it for finding my perfect gray... Oh well.
