Dear AT,
Can I cut a sisal rug (or get someone to do it for me)? I bought a huge sisal rug off craig's list but it's about 1 foot too wide. I'd like to cut it down but not sure how to go about it. Does anyone have experience in this area?
Thanks,
Heather

yes you can I have done this but you will need to hem it with carpet tape or it will run. You can buy the carpet tape which is the stuff that goes around the edge from a fabric store and a round thick needle and just fold it over both sides and stich it. You might also just go to a carpet store and ask them to hem it for you on the machine. Its really easy, just time consuming.
I've heard that you can also hot glue carpet tape but I've never tried it.
