We love to hear back from readers who sent in a good question about what happened "next". Meredith sent us in a photo and email to do just that: Apartment Therapy readers helped me out with my Ewok/Storm Trooper dining chair problem a while ago, and I wanted to let you know that I found all the feedback very valuable! Armed with the advice I received (and a bit of the Force, obviously), I went hunting through Craigslist and Etsy...

...and picked up two Thonet bent plywood chairs, which had the inviting shape of my Ewoks but cleaner lines, and two others chairs in the bentwood style, which were originally going to be temporary but are now probably permanent.

After re-staining the entire set of chairs to get a dark wood finish similar to my Storm Troopers, stripping my Burke Industries table base (blasphemy, I know!) to reveal the brushed aluminum underneath and staining the wood band around my tabletop dark, I'm quite pleased with the results. The table, which I originally chose only for its uniquely practical and aesthetically appealing shape, now fits better into my space and the chairs are both inviting and tidy. I like to think of the chairs as my C3PO, R2D2 combo.

Also, I'm happy to report that while watching Star Trek the other day, I spotted my table--or more accurately, a few versions of its Saarinen original--in several scenes of The Menagerie episode. I haven't noticed it in Star Wars yet, but at least now I know where some of my aesthetic sense comes from. Space...the final frontier...

Thanks again for all of your help!
-Meredith

PS Sorry for the darkness of the pictures I send. Next mission: A more luminous dining room pendant!

Thanks, Meredith!
