Q: Having recently purchased Modernica's daybed, I am completely obsessed with metal hairpin legs. While browsing through FLOR's catalog, I spotted this wonderful media cabinet that will go nicely with my new daybed. I would love to know who makes this cabinet (or anything similar to it). Thank you for your help!

Hairpinlegs.com
I feel your hairpin legs obsession.
I'm currently looking into modifying my Lack TV stand from Ikea by adding their 4" version.
I too used Hairpinlegs.com on my Lack

here's a link for the hairpin legs, which i originally found on apt. therapy:

plastolux that hack looks great and is almost exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for sharing.
Ian is a good guy and will treat you right. Does custom work as well.
I would scour thrift stores for something to transform with
Ian's hairpin legs, which are the best!
Otherwise, consider transforming an ikea product, like Besta units....which have optional doors...(not sliding)
OR... have one made by a cabinet maker.
I went the cabinet maker route, so it would be all wood. It was very inexpensive....I added legs to it, and installed sliding doors, with tracks from Rockler. (Or, you could have the cabinet maker route the track out during the build...if you want sliding doors as opposed to regular)

*ikea hacks are great, but you have to be very careful when installing legs from elsewhere. Only the very edge is wood/particle board....the rest is hollow/cardboard, which won't hold anything. With the Besta, you have to use mounting plates, which can only be attached on 3 sides due to the hollowed inside.
In St. Louis we have TFA, The Future Antiques, which focuses on mid-century furnishings. They posted a listing on Craigslist for nothing but hair pin legs. Here is the link:

They also have a website. www.tfa50s.com
You might try contacting TFA and having them shipped.
