Hello AT,
I saw this in Metropolitan mag several months back....I love love *LOVE* the sink and faucet but have not been able to find it anywhere! The rectangular sinks I have found often are thicker or have various other details that don't look like this one. Any idea where I can find this sink/faucet combo?
Thanks, Diem

Dear Diem,
The first places we would go are:
Duravit for the sink and
Dornbracht for the faucets....
Anyone else?

No real comment other than to say that sink is BEAUTIFUL! Were there more photos of the bathroom in that issue of Metropolitan? I'm going to be redoing a small bathroom and that's exactly what I'm looking for...
Faucet looks like it could be from the Arne Jacobsen range that can be bought from Hastings tile and bath.
I have a similar fawcet- it's made by KWC.
Try Urban Archeology (NYC location) and ask for Sal. I spotted a sink just like that last week in their Boston showroom, it was STUNNING in person. Sal is the owner, and the best guy in the world to deal with.

Oh, and while I am at it here, let me check my latest batch of new product catalogs. I think I have a Kohler and a Kallista somewhere... Hold on...
Holly
looks like "Hasting Zero Sinks" series
Hmmm... Tough to find this one, but again, try Urban Arch, they customized a lot of things and work very well with their clients - they aim to please.

Kallista has a basin that is almost like the one you like, but it has a rim where yours is a smooth flat surface. It sounds like 'almost' won't suit your needs though. You want this exact model. And for good reason, it's beautiful!
Kohler has a few nice sinks, but nothing I saw that fits your description. You can certainly browse their site though, I may have missed something.
I know Waterworks.com has beautiful items. I spoke to their co-Founder just the other day, an extremely nice woman who is also very much geared towards customer satisfaction just as Urban Arch is. They may have what you need, even if you don't see it on their website.
May I may a suggestion? My first inclination is to grab the issue month and page number and contact Met Home directly (or if you have the magazine, look in the source guide in the back. If you don't, try your local public library and see if they carry the issue). Although, my experience has been with magazines that most of the time, the products I see within their pages were custom pieces or no longer being manufactured. But, it's certainly worth a shot.
If that gets you no where, bring your mag clipping to a few showrooms and ask around. I wouldn't ask a sales consultant, as most I've dealt with weren't as 'in the know' as the store managers. (I'm sorry to say this, but for me up here in Boston at least, this has been the case whenever I've visited local bathroom showrooms. I always get somewhere with the managers, though.) Even if the manager doesn't stock it, they are so well-versed in product that I'm sure they'd point you in the right direction. They may even be able to custom order the sink for you.
Hope my $.02 helps.

It's a Hastings Zero Sink and a Vola Faucet and shower mixer / sprayer. Not sure about the medecine cabinet
not quite entirely the same, but this post reminded me of the hollviken sink at ikea, which passes in the rectangular sink shape category, but not on the inside, which is concave like traditional sinks.

I think it might be duravit
it looks like a Lefroy Brooks - Rectangular Ceramic Basin (sku #x06000)...i think they have them on display at Simon's Hardware on 3rd ave. http://www.simons-hardware.com/
the faucets look like dornbracht "tara" series.
Another place to look for great modern sinks is Lacava.com. You can also sometimes find a great deal if you check out their "discontinued products" page and get lucky. They ship out of Chicago, but all their goodies are from Italy. (The owner was once my Italian tutor way back when and I remember him starting out importing glass cabinet knobs. Great success story and inspiration for anyone starting their own thing!)
The Lefroy Brooks doesn't have an overflow, and the Hastings Zero has a much heavier back to the sink in comparison to the sides. I think it might be a Boffi Square
http://www.boffi-soho.com/pdf/wash-basins.pdf
And the tap is an Arne Jacobsen Vola tap (or one of the many knock-offs).
my design mistake: I loved the Lefroy Brooks XO sink and we bought it with the isy faucet by zucchetti (single lever with long spout faucet). A beautiful combination that splashes water all over whoever uses it, unless the faucet is turned on very slowly. Don't know if it's the shallow sink or the long spout, but I do know that it's a big drag, so choose youor combination carefully. I bought it from a place called Bond Bath and Home Gallery (don't know if they're still in business) on Bond and Lafayette. Not the best place for service either, by the way.
Simon's on the east side. I think third ave or first ave.
The sink could be BOFFI 'SQUARE'
The faucet could be Dornbracht Meta Series
The tap is an Arne Jacobsen Vola 111 basin tap; you can tell it is a Jacobsen because the lever (seen more clearly in the shower) is smaller and thinner than the Dornbracht Meta (which is one of the many homages to the Vola):

( I am a walking encyclopedia when it comes to bath products because we are just finishing up our own bathrooms; I know these two products in particular because I lusted after them, and my husband talked me down...sigh...)
Hi,
The sink looks very much like the Vero series of Duravit. You can match the picture against these details on their website:
Model No. :- 0455600000
You could find a similar fitting in the 'Uno' series of AXOR bath fittings.
Am a bath design consultant, and I guess I should be right.
ceramica FLAMINIA!
It looks like my sink which is a Duravit. My has a bit of a backsplash though.
Jey, the one with the backsplash is a Vero series from Duravit again but a different model, 0453600000

Anyone have any opinions on that mirror? I'm assuming it's a medicine cabinet door - is the recess beneath with the bottles or toilet paper or whatever that is something created by the contractor, or is it a single unit with the mirrored cabinet?
the faucet is by hans grohe, i had these in my last house in san francisco, and they work great. dornbracht were awful, washers gave out all the time.
