Jill needs your ideas!
We just moved into an old Victorian home. We love all the details of the house, but not everything is baby friendly. Our house has several (3) of these steam radiators that will heat our house in the winter. Our daughter is 7 months and will surely be crawling by then. We like the look of the radiators and don't want to invest in wood covers because we are renting and will only be here 2 years. Any ideas of what we could use to cover them that wouldn't be totally tacky?
Thanks!
Jill
Dear Jill,
Definitely a question to start thinking about now that it's September. We found Rad Pad. It's a quilted cover that you can get in solid colors- not sure if it's stylish, but it will do the job and quite inexpensively.
Anyone else have solutions that have worked for you?

Ikeahackers</a href> has instructions for one that you might be able to adapt for your own style.
I haven't lived in a home with radiators in quite a while, so I may be misremembering, but I don't recall ours ever getting that hot... certainly not hot enough to present a burn hazard. Have you spent a winter in your house yet? Perhaps you could give them a test run before going to a lot of trouble and/or expense to cover them?
we gated them off. Not elegant, but cheap.
