Hey AT. I keep seeing homes with these great white HDTV’s. I have visited Best Buy, Ultimate Electronics and of course trolled the internet, but all I can ever find are the kitchen size ones. Also, I want to try to see my TV in person. Any stores people would recommend? Thanks! Liz
Thanks our TV! We bought ours on Amazon.com because they had the best price. When we bought ours, Samsung was the only brand making white flat screens but now we believe there may be more available. Regardless, we've loved ours since we opened the box and have never had a problem. It's made well and looks just as bright and white in person as on screen.
Not so sure about stores that carry them for you to see in person (we don't do a lot of electronics shopping in person). Reviews are the best way to dig up the dirt on specific products, in our opinion — we use PriceGrabber.com or Amazon. Anyone else?

Hi,
I want one in the white too and I think you can still get the 19inch size on Best Buy website (I need a 26 inch). I heard they discontinued the white because you could not see the screen very well because of white background
Does anyone who has the white have any experience with the quality of the picture?
I just searched for white a tv for my home and could not find one. I even googled "white, flat-screened tv" and found nothing. Saw nothing at best buy, crutchfield, etc. Finally surrendered.
SHARP makes a nice 32"...

My parents bought a white one a few years ago, and it was the last one, so I went trolling around the city looking for one right after that and they were all gone.
FYI There hasn't been an issue with the picture quality at all on their Sharp. So I'm not sure why it's been discontinued?
Sony Bravia S series comes in 26in, white
We got our Samsung white TV at Best Buy 2.5 years ago in an awesome sale... so maybe they were on their way out of production? Perhaps Craigslist would turn up some options in your area.
I found these: (via google search white HDTV)
Sharp 32"

As far as seeing it in person, I would imagine that most retailers dont have enough floor space to showcase all TV's, so they might show the black version instead (since that's what most consumers are in the market for). Try maybe seeing if they carry the black version to get a feel for how the LCD looks?
Also, it might also be good to look in some local TV shops, if there are any in your area. Citysearch or the yellow pages will probably turn up something.
Oh, and Sony also sells aftermarket bezels in white. I have a 40' XBR and love it:

I bought mine at Best Buy about two years ago. I have the exact same one as pictured, and I have no problems with glare or visibility due to the white frame--I love mine! Great slim profile and the look fits my room.
The Sharp 32" looks GREAT, but we chose not to buy it. It didn't have great reviews (just the opposite, in fact), and was overpriced. Some of the features were totally unnecessary - they call it a 'gaming' tv, which doesn't mean very much, and you'll pay a lot extra.
If you can find the white Samsung, you should definitely go that road. Sorry I don't know where its sold! Forget about Best Buy, try calling smaller, local stores that specialize in home electronics.
I found several options when I searched "white tv" here
.
Thanks for all the help everyone! I am so happy to hear that people haven't had picture issues either because that was the main reason I wanted to see it in person.
Ruth, how easy is that white bezel to attach and does it look natural on the tv or can you easily tell it was an add on?
Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know the source for that lamp?
The Vizio VECO320L comes in white (and it's Energy Star). I am saving for this one!
Can you not turn a black frame into a white one with a little contact paper/macktack???? Anyone try that diy??
I would imagine that most places that sell the brand would be able to special order anything from the line for you. And the picture quality would be the same as the same sized black one. (Except for the normal variations from specific unit to unit.)
Bought mine, same as in the picture here in 2006 for the World Cup... absolutely love it. No picture issues at all. In the evening, the white frame literally disappears, like the picture is floating. During the day, no problems, no glare. We are moving into a new house soon, and have been looking to get another of the same Samsung TV w/ the red flare at the bottom - but it seems that the exact same versions from Samsung are d/c'd.
we got our white 19" sony bravia at the sonystyle store about 8 months ago. i remember seeing samsungs at circuit city (no defunct) and target had some online.
@elizadesigner: seems pretty easy:

Click on the "specification" tab, and click on the owners manual (PDF) - looks like a handful of screws.

I have the black version of the Samsung and I love it. I wanted the white one too, but when I looked at the black and white side by side, the picture from the black one "popped" more. Its not that the white one's picture is bad. Just not as vibrant.
Thanks for the feedback about the quality of the picture. I really want one now.
