Hello AT,
I have to get rid of my beloved plain white bedding and find something a patterned duvet cover now that I have a puppy who spends all day rolling in the dirt and then jumps onto the bed the second we come home.
I'd love to get something with a plant or tree pattern, but hate florals passionately. I noticed that Dwell uses a lovely, simple forest pattern for their crib series and was hoping that someone might know where I could purchase something even the tiniest bit similar for adults?
Thanks a bunch! Lauren

Eh, saying I "hate florals" was the short way of saying that my apartment is already too girly and Anthropologie and I need a pattern that will offset that. I just didn't want to make my question too long by explaining all of that. Oops.
i've always loved the bed linens at crate&barrel.

Sounds like you may like a toile, and Pottery Barn Bed & Bath has a lovely one. Click my name for the link.

ditto on Amenity home. Enter code CANDY and get a free pillow. No I am not a spammer. Just got an email from them and like to share the bargains. And never apologize for hating florals! To each his own.
Teach your puppy to sit when you come home and wipe him down (paws especially) with baby wipes. Takes 5 seconds, keeps your home tons cleaner.
But still treat yourself to nice new bedding!
Keep the puppy off the bed. Would you walk on your bed with your shoes on after coming in from outside?
Merr, when I want opinions about the puppy's behavior, I'll post on a dog forum. My question was about the bedding.
If only it were that easy to keep a puppy clean and off the bed... I have three dogs who stare at me pathetically when I won't let them into the bed.
Have you checked Garnett Hill? They have a pretty wide array of options with lots of natural, leafy patterns that will hide hair and dirt.
also try West Elm (www.westelm.com) and I second the recommendation for Garnet Hill.
Good luck! Bedding is such an agonizing decision (well, maybe it's just me) but in the end there's nothing better than getting into bed with awesome new sheets.
Personally I think that nothing looks better on a bed than a dog. But that's just my own opinion.
Knowing dogs as I do, my advice would be to buy a budget comforter/bedcover. Splurge on the sheets and shams if you want but puppy (if he is always going to be allowed on the bed) will quickly make you glad you didn't shell out the big bucks for something he thinks of as his own.
Also watch him around the corners, tags, and any ties (such as the ones in quilts) which can be tempting for bored pups to chew at.
I agree, nothing looks better on a bed than a pretty dog :) I have two labs {yellow + black} and my yellow lab has been sleeping on our bed since he's been five months. On occasion, when my two kids aren't sleeping with us too, I'll let my black lab up. (though she loves her "George SF" bedding)
Anyway, we have an all white graphic pattern duvet + sheets from Portico. {they were expensive, but so worth it} I put a sheet on top of the duvet at night so my dog is never sleeping on the actual cover. So far, it's worked. I would try Dwell – they have some beautiful patterns.
how about a color that doesn't show dirt right away, like putty or beige? my dog sleeps with me and i just wash the duvet cover more often, but he is not allowed to jump on the bed at all times.
now as for the puppy, cleaning puppy paws is good training, it also helps dogs deal with nail clipping. now is the time to do it while they are young and your bedding is new.
What about these?

I have the same puppy paw problem (and yes, we wipe her feet every time she comes in, but she has a way...). I have a relatively neutral bedroom and two different duvet covers and sheet sets that I use--both match fine, but actually brighten up the room in different ways, so the variety is fun. When I change them, I switch sets and can soak them for several hours or overnight with some Oxo Brite before washing. Everything comes out, so then I just need fun patterns to disguise the dirt until I wash. I second (or third or fourth?) Garnet Hill; good sales on duvet covers, too, once the sheets start to sell out.
cat, those are perfect!
Thanks everyone for your suggestions (and for agreeing with me that there's nothing wrong with an adorable puppy curled up on a bed). Your help is truly appreciated.
