Good Questions: Choosing a Real Bed for the First Time?

Apartment Therapy DC reader Mary is looking for the perfect bed: "I am buying my first house and I think this sign of adulthood requires me to finally purchase a real bed! I have a recliner that I will be using in the room and also have picked out the bedding (pictured below). I now need a bed that coordinates. Could you post this on the website for suggestions and comments? Thanks! Mary"

Mary,
We think a dark wood bed would be coordinate well with your existing chair and that green bedding. We've had great luck finding wooden beds on Craigslist (an antique mahogany plantation bed for $75 and a West Elm headboard for $120) so it might be worth checking that out before purchasing something new, especially if you aren't completely set on a particular style or wood tone.

Do you have a favorite bed to share with Mary?
