Hello AT,
I am looking for an incredibly skinny bedside table. Heightwise anything between 25 and 35" will work, and depthwise, anything up to about 2 feet, but here's the problem: it can't be any more than 10" wide. The only thing I can find is Target's cherry(ish?) veneer Metropolitan folding CD rack, which I thought I could turn sideways, but it only comes in a dark wood I don't like.
Anyone have any inexpensive-to-reasonably priced solutions in light wood? Thanks, Liz
Cathy, This seems to us like a custom situation, and in NYC Gothic Cabinetcraft would be your best affordable bet. They can tailor most of their designs to your specs and stain any color you like. Anyone else?
(Note: Include a pic of your problem and your question gets posted first.)

I'd agree, and recommend you check out MDC (Metropolitan Design Center) on Broadway and 21st Street. Or Atlantic (I think that's their name) on 6th Avenue and 35th Street. They are affordable, but do veneers which are much nicer than Gothic's stained woods.
I had a similar problem last year, and couldn't afford custom. I ended up purchasing a narrow "bathroom shelf tower" from Bed Bath and Beyond. Check out bath furniture...towel towers and the like may fit the bill for you.
Good luck!
I'd recommend checking out smartfurniture.com. You can configure your own pieces, and that's what I did when I wanted a shelving unit less than 10" deep. When you load the webpage, go to Design Your Own, then Create Design/Layout. It's really fun!
Because I am a cheapo, I remedied this same problem by using TV trays with a pretty pillow case and/or small table cloth draped over the top. No one has been the wiser.
What about a "C" side table--West elm has one for $139 that is 18 X 10 X 24H. The top tray also comes off in case you want to entertain in your bedroom...hmm hmmm. :)
This isn't even pretending to be wood...but Room and Board's slim is also 24 X 10 X 24 h.

Have you tried the Bombay Company? They have a wide selection of small accent tables that work well beside a bed. I'm thinking a small round table might be your best bet -- they seem to fit in narrower places. Also, a skinny hall table turned the other way might work, if you don't mind it sticking out a bit.
Christine - you beat me to it. That's exactly the table I was going to recommend.
I have the same problem. I saw an Ikea small space solution that was not a table, but a shelving type thing that pulled out like a pantry. We just have one place in our bedroom for the bed and my table will need to fit between wall and bed.
We might just make one with 10" wide boards since it really won't be seen. If you find one, please post it!
