I love the drapes in my bedroom but they block the heat vents when they are closed. Any suggestions for solutions? I'm thinking about rollup shades---which would give a more tailored look than cellular pleated ones. But I've only seen pictures of the new fabric ones and I have visions of the vinyl ones of my youth... any advice?

That is a GOOD solution and you needn't be scared of roll-up shades. They have grown quite nice over the years.

We would recommend heading over to SmithandNoble.com, check out their shades and send away for samples. They have a complete range with many fabric options. It can be a bit confusing, however, so check out the samples before ordering.
