I'd like to hang some ceiling-to-floor drapes to hide my ugly and uneven bedroom closet doors. I've seen your hardware recommendations (How To: Hang Curtains Across Any Space) but I wanted to know what kind of fabric I should shop for.

I'm trying to go for that Delano/Shore Club look where the fabric is sheer but not too sheer, and is heavy enough to drape nicely. Any idea what I should be looking for?

There are a lot of fabrics to choose from, but we would look for a silk/wool or silk/cotton weave and have enough fabric that you can let it really bunch up and not need backing. Anyone else?
