Yellow-green isn't very restful. A blue-gray or other cool color would work better.

I think you're right about the green and the Eastery vibe...I think with the blue and bits of pink it would be risky.

What about a very pale, pearly grey?

It looks like you have sort of a similar color palette as a previous entry, Kristin's Cozy Village Studio. Check it out. I think she pulled off the serene feel you want very well.

I think a soft grey-blue would work well. Take a look at Benjamin Moore's Wedgewood Grey or something in that range.

Yes, I agree with everyone else so far. A pale blue-grey will be calming and peaceful and the pieces you have will play off of it. Bringing in green or yellow with just make too many pastel colors in one room.

I'm also partial to periwinkle bedroom walls because you feel like you're floating in a cloud when you're laying in bed. Sometimes it looks very blue, sometimes pale purple. Very serene.

Is that a pet alligator asleep on those pillows? I'd keep that cute gray and white cat at a safe distance from your alligator. Shouldn't he live in a tank of some kind rather than your bed?

Think Gustavian colors, like a dove grey.

For something a little fresh, you might want to consider a calamine lotion pink.

The bluish gray scheme sounds tempting--you can be guaranteed that it will work--but I second Sleeping Spot: periwinkle is an amazing color, restful, rejuvenating--maybe something in that range, with more of the periwinkle undertones, would do the trick.

Dove grey is nice. Think Gustavian/Swedish colors. Maybe a pale, neutral pink?

Yellow-green is pretty, maybe not restful. I tend to think of that color as stimulating. How about as an accent color.

I like the periwinkle idea. Or a blue that has grey undertones but I think you need a bit more color.

Dead stuffed fish should be incorporated into your color scheme.

try Quest Grey by sherwin williams. soothing, purplish grey.

And why not a deep blue? Sometimes it's cosier to use dark colours. The light blues with the pink details and your wooden bed would look really sophisticated too. At least that's what I think:P

Love the trout. Think the grey suggestions are spot on tho I would be tempted to try a sample pot of some barely pink to see how it looks. A lot depends on the kind of light you get in the morning. See what feels good to wake up with. Home Despot has little sample jars now. They paint up a large swatch of wall for testing.

I have that same stuffed cat fish!!! I bought him at walmart about 7 years ago and I decided he was french and named him Jean Luc. He is so ugly but I can't bare to part with him. This totally made my day!!!

I agree that a gray (possibly with lavender tones in it) would be a safe non-Easter solution and would work with the artwork on your wall. I don't LOVE pink and gray together, though, myself. How permanent are your pink touches? Seems that you could focus on the blue and green touches and by scaling down the pinks you can stay cool and calm without looking too pastel-y

I also am really drawn to the very pale robin's egg blues that are showing up on walls a little more these days. It's barely blue...would look nice with your lantern, and is very calming, I think.

My first thought was deep blue too...Look at how nicely your Denim clad gentlemen complements the room. Maybe even just try it on one wall at first, if you're worried?

More importantly though: Are those Hippo pillowcases??? Please say it's true.

try benji moore seafoam - its a minty gray - very cool, calming, serene and looks good with just about any accent color. it's a favorite.

I have a light blue grey on three walls and a darker blue grey on the headboard wall in my bedroom. I really enjoy it. So if the blue / grey / periwinkle / etc suggestions are all calling your name you can always choose two that complement each other and do something like that.

Just found (at Lowe's) a color called Hotel St. Francis Clay Angel. Perfect pale neutral: in our room it's warm off-white, maybe light taupe, during the day, and a very pale grey at night. Very pretty, very livable, really sets off wood tones well. (can you tell I'm overjoyed to have finally found the right color?) anyway, might work in your space...

Whatever you do, keep the fish....

Thanks everyone. I'd thought grey too at first... It's a catfish, and slumbering dog/cat pillows. I don't know how I ended up with three different inanimate creatures on my bed, strange but I enjoy them. :)

I know you're only asking about wall color and not decor, but... might I suggest a second denim clad male? Like throw pillows, you can never do wrong with a variety strewn about.
