You could do an Ikea Klippan sofa with a Bemz slipcover. Or if you don't like any of the Bemz fabrics, you could always find a fabric you love and get the slipcover and pillows custom made.
You could always get an IKEA sofa (from IKEA or Craigs List) and then order a slipcover from Bemz.Klippan sofa from ikea- $399 (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10138530)Bemz doesn't have a green floral design, but you could try a solid green and make/buy pillow in a fabric similar to the one from Anthropologie. I actually think that would look nicer and be more practical than such a bold-printed sofa.
It would be vastly cheaper to buy a simple streamlined sofa in a solid and add some Marimekko cushions. (The Anthropologie sofa is chic now, but I wonder how it will look in a few years.)
the couch? the upholstery? or both? The fabic is Anna Danielsson for Marimekko, which is a new version of a Josef Frank textile. Their upholstery runs about $70/yd, whereas Josef Frank textiles are around $250 to $400/yd.Marimekko "bottna" is here:http://www.marimekko.fi/ENG/interior/fabric/annadanielsson/continuingcollection/bottna_161.htmJosef Frank fabricsare here: http://www.svenskttenn.se/ navigate products/textiles/Josef FrankYou could get a used sofa and recover it. But it won't be any more affordable with the Marimekko fabric unless you find it cheap on ebay or steep discount elsewhere.Ikea has a similar version of "bottna", but it's not woven tightly enough to make long-lasting upholstery, and frankly I think it's not a very good alternative if you're in love with bottna. If yuo never saw bottna, you might like it a lot. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40120656Room and Board has three similar sofas. Try Haley, Brooks, or Hutton styles. http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/category.do?method=get&id=91552821&page=allI waited for the headboard I wanted from Anthropologie to go on sale and then reupholstered it in $7/yd linen that I found as a remnant, usually selling for $50/yd.I think it's highly unlikely that you'll find that shape and that fabric or anything really close to it anywhere else, which is why Anthro can charge you a mortgage payment for the sofa.Good luck!
Lisa Hunter (Montreal) -- your solution is the best I think. Get the sofa in the silhouette you love, and make a couple of marimekko pillows. VOY-ola!
The Marcel sofa at CB2 is on sale for $699. You can then order pillows made out of the green Bottna fabric at Imagine Fabric:http://www.imaginefabric.com/bottnagreenpc.html
I had a couch made for my by Vanessa Herrera of Sofas and More. She did a Room and Board design in a fabric I chose (she had tons of options) and did it for less than half the price. Her contact information is:Vannesa Herrera310email@example.com://www.sofastablesandmore.com/
oh and its a GREAT couch!
It's on sale half price on the Anthropologie website right now.
