Good Questions: Breakfast/Laptop Tray?

Good looking and sturdy breakfast trays so you can use your laptop in bed. I have searched and have not found the right tray. Something to have your breakfast on or use a laptop on a Sunday morning. Any good sources? Thank you kindly.

This is probably more than you wanted to spend, but I think the Runway table from CB2 could be great - it's a console table on casters that can fit over a full or queen bed. so it can live down at the end of your bed most of the time and then just get rolled up to you when you need it.

p.s the "legs" fold away for nice and easy flat storage

The Malm series at Ikea has a similar item to the CB2 suggestion for $80. Here's a link, but I've seen it in more colors than just red (which is the only one offered online):

I use the Offi Overlap Tray for my laptop and I love it.

Ikea Hacker has a cheap DIY tray using the Grundtal stool. It looks an awful lot like the tray pictured.

Someone also posted this Offi knockoff from Bed Bath and Beyond in a previous post.

I have one from Bed, Bath and Beyond, but I'm not sure if they sell it anymore. The middle part of it can be propped up, like for reading books and it has 2 side compartments for magazines and that kind of thing. B,B&B has one that folds up:

We have that CB2 tray pictured above, and for computing in bed, it's great. Not so much for breakfast though - for a food tray you really need to have a lip so everything doesn't go sliding off into your lap. I was inspired by a post in Ikea Hacker a while back and made one by cutting the legs off a Benjamin stool. It's a great solution because the height is customizable!

(Anyone know where to find the bed? that's what caught my eye: an interesting combination of wood and metal. Thanks!)

My husband just got me the Lapster from Levenger. It's spendy but the curve-around-your-body shape is great, the legs snap closed and stay that way magnetically, the center props up, a handle pops out, and there's a built in wrist rest.
