Jennifer sent us an email: Do you know where I could find a table similar to the Corbett at Room and Board but wider (42" or more)? If you have any suggestions about places I should look I would be very grateful!

We called Room and Board to find out if the Corbett was available in custom widths. Design Associates John and Patty checked into for us, but unfortunately that particular piece is not customizable - it is available in 36x80 or 36x104.
So...any suggestions for similar tables in wider widths would be appreciated. Share your ideas with Jennifer in the comments below...

As a woodworker I could build a similar table (no one wants to steal an exact design) and make it to any dimensions you would like. If you're on the east coast, we could talk, otherwise you may want to search for a custom woodworker in your area. I'm sure there are some around and they could accommodate your needs.
If you have the money... look at Desiron or Hudson Furniture. They will probably do custom, but plan to spend a bit more then R B.
I agree about finding a local woodworker. I recently made a similar table for myself and it wasn't too complicated.
Where are those posts about the custom table?
Isn't that being made by a woodworker in the Chicago area?
I have this Design Within Reach trestle table and I love it.

Room and Board will customize some of their pieces so it would be worthwhile contacting them first.
Have you been around the Chicago Furniture District. There are a number of stores there that will customize a table to any size you like. Sawbridge Studios is at 153 W Ohio and Cambium (www.cambiumhome.com 312-832-9920) is at 119 W Hubbard.
