We received an email from Andy: I'm trying to find an interior designer for my Lincoln Park apartment. I found your info on your Apartment Therapy website (great, btw) and was wondering if you might be able to point me toward any resources or, better yet, make any suggestions.

(Note: Include a pic of your problem and your question gets posted first. Email questions and pics with QUESTIONS in subject line to: chicago(at)apartmenttherapy(dot)com)

Andy, if you are looking for an interior designer who works on the traditional designer/client model, the Merchandise Mart has Designer Portfolios, a database system to help find a designer and Chicago Home & Garden has a good listing online and in print.

And, if you are looking for a less traditional arrangement here are a few other routes you can go:

  • Pret-A-Habiter: 1.800.205.0043, flat fee, zero commission design services (started in NY in 2005, now in Chicago)

  • Urban Source: 312.455.0505 - walk-in studio which gives access to previously trade only resources to customers

Ok, Chicago readers - please help Andy out - if you've got a designer to recommend, we want names!
