Reader Pennycarnival posed an interesting question in this week's Open Thread:
Has anyone ever heard of a fitted crib blanket? Not a fitted sheet. A blanket. I've noticed my 11 month old sleeps better with a blanket under her, but just putting one loosey-goosey in her crib doesn't seem safe. If not, anyone have a favorite brand for flannel fitted sheets?
When we first read this question nothing sprang to mind, but in some serendipitous websurfing we stumbled upon fitted fleece sheets which seem pretty close to what Pennycarnival is looking for. Another mother was faced with this same issue - her baby preferred sleeping on a blanket - so she created Fleece Baby sheets. They come in six colors, are super soft and have a deep elasticized pocket to "ensure that as baby turns and tugs on the sheet through the night, the sheet will stay put."
Has anyone tried this or know of a similar product that might suit Pennycarnival's needs?
