It has been part of a reworking of her entire space (moving her desk into the smaller library to make room for a collaborative area) but is having difficulty arranging the larger space to support her goals. I am a self employed consultant who works from home and on site with clients. While my mission is to "help self-starters self-finish," I have yet to finish my home/work space to serve my goals! My dream is to have a convertible living room that will alternately accommodate my relaxation as well as meetings with clients and colleagues. How can I create a space for lounging and meetings? Move existing furniture? Have a hide-a-way table I can pull up to my platform couch(which I designed, btw:) for meetings? Folks who come usually have laptops and technology, so power and work surfaces are important. What do you think?
Our friend has plenty of space to work with but we think a little furniture rearranging and a few key pieces of furniture will turn her space into a collaborative setting. Maybe some lap benches for couch guests or a table that can be put away when not in use.
