Dear Unplggd,
I just moved into my first purchased apt and it's not huge so I'm trying to find furniture that serves a dual purpose. I purchased my printer 2 years ago (this might of been my first mistake) and am now having trouble finding something that will house my printer and serve as a nightstand in my bedroom. I found this EQ3 storage cabinet that would fit my printer perfectly and it has a file cabinet that works well with it (so I can have 2 nightstands) but it comes from Canada so I'd have to wait about 3 months. Should I just bite the bullet and wait the three months or does anyone have any suggestions on a printer cabinet that will hold this printer? I know it's not a printer that people tend to have in their home.
Any suggestions are welcome...thanks!
Cindy
Can the printer go wireless? There are many ways to do this, and you'd be able to stash it in a closet out of site. If you're a Mac user, an easy solution is an Airport Express which would allow you to connect the printer directly to it and print wirelessly. We're not sure, but believe this may work with PCs, as well. If you can go wireless with the printer, it opens up a lot more options when it comes to where to stash the unit.
Anyone have suggestions for printer-friendly furniture?
Thanks for the question, Cindy!

hey! i have a big 3-in-1 print/fax/scan thingy, and no decent looking furniture would fit it (without it sitting on top, ugh), but it's wireless so we made room for it in a closet, drilled a hole in the wall for a plug, and voila! the only issue for me is going back and forth to deal with printing issues. but it's SO nice to not have the huge printer uglifying my pritty work area. we also put the router, modem, and the shitload of cables into the closet as well. awesomeness! but now the closet is super disorganized ;)
if i were you, either attempt a printer-en-closet, wait those three months for the perfect furniture to house it, or, if it's easier, go the other direction and invest in a good wireless printer! eh? eh?
good luck!
excellent question!
got the same printer/problem....at least its a network printer which means it can be stored in a spare room (if u have one!)
Are you set on having stored in something? You could hit up the thrift stores and find a side table that would fit over and it and then find a nice tablcloth, fabric remnant or sheet to go over it thus hiding it away.

I have the same HP printer, and I keep it in a Staples Loft Computer Cabinet. It's meant to have a file drawer and room for a cpu, but I assembled it without the drawer, and it holds the printer perfectly.
