Hi AT, When my grandmother died she left a set of thick-stemmed wine/cocktail glasses to my mom. Throughout the years the set of 4 has dwindled to 1 and my mom is on the hunt for a new set. I haven't had a shred of luck finding anything similar. I don't have a photo of the originals, but the closest I have found is pictured here (the originals were not quite as deep). The ones pictured are from Crate and Barrel, but are discontinued. This would be a really wonderful, semi-sentimental gift if I could find another set. Has anyone seen anything similar? Happy Holidays! Ashley
Anyone?

I have these Crate and Barrel glasses and love them, but my supply is now dwindling too. I bought them because they were so much cheaper than these at Takashimaya: http://www.takashimaya-ny.com/product_detail.php?productid=16239&cat=264. But these are still available!
If you have the name of the stemware, try replacements.com and see if they have any and another thing, hunt around in antique stores, thrift shops etc and see if you can find them that way, it may take a little doing, but you can find them that way, often for very little.
Don't forget estate sales and garage sales too for people are always getting rid of odd glassware.
like the takashimaya glasses. for another thick stemmed goblet, equally expensive (sorry) and heirloom worthy (really), but without a globe form, how about simon pearce essex stemware? i bought seconds for myself as a graduation gift and use them for water/wine/sangria and an occasional large margarita.

Crap. C&B quit carrying those? I just broke one on Saturday.
Wonder if the C&B outlet still has them . . .
I just couldn't help but notice that several people have broken glasses...I know I'm partial because I work for the company, but I had to chime in on this one. The Simon Pearce glasses mentioned in one of the other comments, although more expensive than Crate & Barrel, will last forever. I use them myself, I even let my kids use them, because they are so thick and durable (which comes as a result of the hand blown process). Literally, I think you could probably beat someone up with an Essex glass and it wouldn't break. Plus, we've been making them forever, and we would never discontinue (it's one of Simon's first designs).

Hi Ashley--I realize the holidays have passed, but figure maybe you're still looking. I just moved and no longer have space for all of my glasses...I have a set of 6 of these glasses (from Crate & Barrel). Let me know if you'd be interested!
