AT,
I realize that Suzanis are supposedly "out" (at least according to this New York Times article, but I'd really like one. Where can I find one?
Thanks,
Elizabeth
Elizabeth,
Last month we featured a Uzbek Suzani from a company called Yurdan.com.
Jamie and Miriam bought theirs on eBay.
There's a vendor that sells them at Alemany Flea Market in SF on Sundays.
Anyone else?

I've seen some nice ones at Anthropologie.
Don't the San Francisco scene as well as I used to, but I might start at Xanadu.
Ebay.
There's a company in Oregon that imports suzanis. They just opened a store in Portland and have several of them around. It's actually a very cool store, lots of antique reproductions from all over. Their website is www.authenticmodels.com.
Ebay has a million different suzanis at varied price points.
I like these too and I don't care if they are out of style. I need some texture in my room!
search for textiles as the weaving type.
they also have an offline inventory...
Hi everyone, I happen to have a small collection of antique suzanis, most of them collected in the past twenty years during my ethnographic field trips to Uzbekistan. If you like to know more about the really rare and antique suzani emboidered panels or to see some lovely examples, just write to me to:
