I have been searching endlessly for a coat rack shaped like a tree. I have browsed stores in the Los Angeles area and all over the web. Anybody found any cool ones they would like to suggest? Regards, Danielle

Danielle, how about this Tree Coat Rack from West Elm, shown above? Or if you want something that takes up less room, there's the Ferm Living Coat Tree. Erich Ginder's Ghost Tree is our personal favourite of the tree shaped coat racks, but the price only makes us really wish money grew on 'em. Maybe DIY your own tree coat rack instead?

Really?
Type "tree coat rack" into Google images search (I like to see picture previews).....comes up with lots of options....even several design blog round-ups of tree shaped coat racks.
Maybe there's some specific trait you're looking for that you didn't mention?
I like this one http://www.bonluxat.com/a/Michael_Young_and_Katrin_Petursdottir_Tree_Coat_Hanger.html

i just got the viva terra catalog and i think i saw some options in there that look a bit more natural than the one shown in this image - may be a good start?

Take a walk in the woods. All kinds of em free for the taking.
and then when this whole fake tree trunk / animal head / antler craze is out of style in 7 minutes you can throw it right back in the woods and still feel good about yourself.
but don't throw it back in the woods if you spray paint it.
I have to agree with Headzo on the likelihood that this tree-branch craze will be a fad -- surely antlers are already passe. And I definitely think paying $2,100 for the Erich Ginder one made out of tacky white resin is absurd. But thank you for introducing me to Ferm. I now covet several of their wallpaper and wall sticker designs.
There's a very cute one at anthropologie. It's in the accent section under furniture, only $168.00
I love the West Elm version - it's almost like a tall vertical art piece for your living room...and it's a lot more visually appealing than most grandfather clocks.
Unfortunately they are sold out!!
Please write to West Elm if you'd like to see them offer it again:
