Good Questions: Where to Find Petite Hangers?

AT reader Jen writes in with this closet organization question we're hoping someone out there might have experience with:

"Where can I find inexpensive 14" hangers? I'm running out of hangers in my closet and I figure if I'm gonna get new ones, I might as well try to create some order. The tubular children's hangers at Target are too small. Regular size hangers are too big. I'm pretty sure 14" would be just the right size for my tops. Wood would be nice, but I'm open to slim flocked, metal, plastic... anything for a decent price."

Jen, the 14" sized hangers are often described as "teen size", and if cost is the primary issue, plastic is probably the cheapest way to go. A set of 100 14" plastic hangers will cost just $32, but we're sad to say the styling of the hangers themselves will likely make your closet look like a retail discounter rather than a personal closet. Very slim form metal hangers will set you back around $89, while curved wood hangers are about $120 for a box of 100.
