Hi Unplggd,
So I saw "Definitely Maybe" a few days ago and it was totally what you'd expect-- kinda sweet and mindless. Anyway, my friends and I all walked out of the movie and the first thing we wanted to know was where the wireless earbuds that Ryan Reynolds' character wears in the opening scene came from.
In case you haven't seen the movie, they were like little earplugs to listen to music with and there were no wires. They weren't the big clunky ones that wrap around the ear that turn up when I search for them. I'm obsessed. They were so subtle.
Cait
Hi Cait,
We haven't seen the film, but we hope someone out there can help you out. The buzz around the net is that these might be a fake product. A couple of guesses that we found are the $600 Sennheiser earbuds or a concept piece from Plantronics.
Anyone have some ideas for Cait?
Thanks for the question!

unless it was a major plot point, it is unlikely that that the prop dept would have made these headphones up for the show. However, it is likely that someone could of said, I don't like the wires, they make wireless now, cut them off! Another thing to look for as far as manufacturer- any other electronics featured in the movie, they may be product placement. Might be hard to see the brand on the headphones, but maybe not stereo/speakers in the movie.
Movie was shot in NY, propmaster would be the one who got the headphones.

While not exactly as shown I think you use an induction loop and earpiece intended for other purposes. A quick Google search turned up this as an example:

the headphones are real, they are Genius BT-03A Bluetooth wireless headphones
