"But our waking life, and our growing years, were for the most part spent in the kitchen, and until we married, or ran away, it was the common room we shared." -Laurie Lee
As a part of a household that has only a large-ish kitchen as a common area, we have grown accustomed to (and delighted by) convening in our kitchen. Heck, by now we have five chairs in our small kitchen, with more waiting in the wings! From serious morning meetings to dinners where we cram more people into the room than we thought possible, the kitchen is definitely the heart of our home. Even at home with our extended family, we find ourselves gathering more often than not in the kitchen to chat, celebrate, and often share a serious conversation. We are fairly certain this will continue long after we're married (or run away!)
