“The dinner table is the center for the teaching and practicing not just of table manners but of conversation, consideration, tolerance, family feeling, and just about all the other accomplishments of polite society except the minuet.” -Judith Martin, a.k.a. "Miss Manners"
We love the wise advice and sage sayings that come from Miss Manners. We have grown up with a mother that appreciates pleasantries and bits of formality here and there that often go overlooked, and try to carry over some of those qualities ourselves. There are many kinds of holiday gatherings, but many of them have at least a portion stationed around a dinner table. While we love a less refined atmosphere, peppered with fun, and occasional loud outbursts, we like to remember all of the other qualities of a good sit down with friends and family.
