West Paw Design: Eco-Friendly Dog Beds

What is organic on the outside and recycled on the inside? Montana-based West Paw Design's dog beds! If you are looking for a solid investment in a non-toxic dog bed for your pooch, they have just the stuff. The company uses durable, recycled, and non-toxic materials to create their unique and colorful array of dog beds. From napping pads to luxurious beds, they have a variety of options for Fido's beauty rest.

So just how sustainable are they?

Lean & Green Manufacturing: West Paw Design focuses on their commitment to the environment by manufacturing their products in the USA, minimizing waste, and re-using as well as recycling products during manufacturing. First, they provide fair wages, excellent employee benefits, and retain high standards for the quality of their products. Second, they have created a manufacturing process that has reduced it's waste to 2.4%! Lastly, they actively use scrap materials in their toys and recycled material in their shipping.

Recycled Content: For filling, they use IntelliLoft, made from recycled plastic bottles. Specifically, they are made from PETE that is supposed to require 8 times less energy than creating the product from raw materials. To date, West Paw Design has diverted 4.03 Million plastic bottles from landfills. They even send your dog bed with a tag that tells you how many water bottles went into making your product. Organic and reclaimed cotton makeup the majority of their products. Their dog toys are 100% recyclable with a lifetime guarantee.

Designed for a Dog: For Fido, perhaps the most important part is that their products are truly designed for a dog! They have four-walled dog beds, sleeping mats, and big fluffy beds that leave a side open so they can crawl right in. Trust me when I say these are comfortable. After using my dog's bed as a pillow for a quick nap...I wish they made one's big enough for humans!

Now that's what we call 'closing the loop'! Oh, and did we mention they are just plain cute?
