I'm the first to admit that full time blogging can bring on some straight up wacky now and then; after too many hours staring at the computer screen sometimes ANY inspiration is welcome. It was during one of those moments a few years ago that I first tried out what I dubbed the "Google Decorator", wherein I summon up all of the great powers of Google's wisdom to find me some always-unexpected examples of design. Well, hold on to your hats and glasses, I'm taking you down that rabbit hole with me— which furniture does the great Google oracle find truly beautiful?

While we are at it, some decorating touches couldn't hurt....

While I would never deny the prowess of this powerful oracle, clearly there is no denying that after seeing this collection, a home furnished according to the Google Decorator's taste would be… ahem… memorably eclectic. Which one of these most beautiful furnishings could you imagine in your own home?
And, in case you are curious to see how Google's taste has changed over the years, here is the original Google Decorator post, from August 2007:
• Google Decorator: The Most Beautiful Room

White Enamel Flatwa...
Only the credenza.
Yuck! NONE!
What world are you living in. My world is far more beautiful!!!
I kinda like the coffee table.
God awful. Coffee table isn't too bad though.
Memorably eclectic? That's a truly kind way of putting it. The credenza is the only item you'd ever see in Chez BunnyKeeper. The rest is just putrid although the kitten in the painting is adorable. If the kitten were real it could totally move in with the hubby and I :)
yes, only the credenza--maybe at that!
Google = programmed electronic equipment, no? I can see how, if I were a piece of electronic equipment, I would want to furnish my home with these pieces.
The credenza. Where can I buy it??
That bed!
That sofa might be the most beautiful fashioned out of a pasta product.
Not finding this world particularly beautiful. Nothing would enter my house.
my favorite piece is the ouija board.
The middle handles of the credenza are a bit too vulva-like, otherwise it just looks like a bit of G-plan.
Did nobody notice the desk? It's amazing!
absolutely completely in LOVE with that coffee table!!!
credenza. yes. possibly the dining table if it wasn't on the floor.
That IS a pretty nice looking credenza ... probably the most beautiful in the solar system.
the credenza..they did OK with that :-)
I like the chair as well, kind of mid century modern
I noticed the desk tesslorraine, and it is gorgeous!
The credenza is kind of cute. But I have a weird thing for that bed. I know I probably shouldn't like it, but I do a little. I can't imagine sleeping in such a hectic space though.
I would use the bed for a kids room... mostly though, YUCK!
The bed is definitely beautiful. The rest.. not so much...
I like the credenza. The coffee table could be fun in the right situation. The painting....oh sweet jesus that's bad.
PERFECT! I'm so excited. I think I'll start with the kitten painting.
Love the desk! The rest...not so much.
Hideous. I do like the credenza. Google: please stick to web programming, you're not too shabby at it.
Oh barf. That lamp makes me want to hurt things...
I was going to say the credenza- until wildwildrice ruined it for me . . .
lulz. I do like that coffee tableI even have a rug it could go on, though not the extra living room it could go in. And I like japanese things, but that is funny. Someone must be very enthusiastic about it. XD No surprise that many ATers like the credenza, though.
Doesn't google factor in your past search history/results? For example, I don't get any of those images when I do the same search. Perhaps it's a partial mirror? If so, I question your taste in lighting :)
THE CREDENZA IS NICE- MAYBE I WOULD NOT SAY IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN THE WORLD.... EVERYTHING ELSE IS NO BUENO!!
I like the wallpaper!! Lone voice?
Misplaced and confused. A collection of objects that just may reflect the demographic of all Google users.
Wow. Google is WRONG.
I love the desk. The wall paper is cool but I would only want it in small amounts.
Would totally use the wallpaper and credenza...however, that lamp is AW-ful.
Love the coffee table! Beautiful!
Another vote for the credenza. That coffee table would make my husband run screaming from the room.
Tesslorraine - I suspect the desk is suffering from poor context. It looks pretty drab next to all of those froofy pieces, but would be absolutely brilliant in a more modern, industrial office.
Really like the desk -- I have a thing for drawers. Like the coffee table too, as something to populate my alternate universe. The rest, eeeang, not so much.
The morale of this story? Include the words "most beautiful ______ in the world" if you want Google to find you.
harsh critics here!
The coffee table and the credenza. The rest... not so much.
What? No Thomas Kinkade paintings?
@kedvadi
... why would it reflect the tastes of all google users? Some page just happens to have "most beautiful ___ in the world" in its text it happens to have more traffic than all the other pages with that in the text. o.o Give it long enough and I expect the top result for all these searches will be this post.
Is this a joke? Maybe we should google 'the most uncomfortable seating' in the world.
That desk is amazing. The coffee table is also gorgeous, but I'm way to accident prone for that much glass.
Boy you guys are a hard group to please.
As Ever
Montgomery X
I think the bed is kinda cool! But I'd probably start to hate it after the novelty wore off... I really DO like the desk, though.
how about 'the most comfortable furniture in the world'? some of this stuff looks like things we made from trash while in graduate school. or found in the trash bin.
now i gotta try some google 'most'..
Google...should be GAGgle, this stuff is awful! I would like the Ouija board and that is all.
Not going to lie... I am sort of in love with that bed.
The furniture selections are pretty extra-ordinary. I like all of them. But the only one that would find a home here is the desk. Mmmm. Drawers!
Sofa: made from giant woven pot holder at summer camp
Chair: made from industrial size waffle iron parts
Coffee Table: had something that looked like that, but sinus medication cleared it up
Credenza: grandma called, she wants her old tv/phonograph console returned
Bed: Nightmare on Narnia Street
Dining Chair: can I get a cushion before my thighs fuse to the Lucite?
Dining Set: should have waited for the concrete to set before moving the furniture in
Desk: yet another use for recycled pallets
Wallpaper: great use for all those embossed Star in the East-style Christmas cards
Lamp: grandmother's house, circa, 1950
Painting: Okay, now you're just yanking my chain
I heart the bed. I downloaded that photo a year ago and it still resonates. What also resonates is the birch tree limb bed, which has also appeared on AT. Most of the other 'most beautiful,' not so much.
The kitten painting!
um, I actually like that lamp. Not saying I would buy it, but it's cute!
The pasta chair!
The Ouija board!
that bed is pretty awesome, along with the credenza! everything else is....... yeah, not my taste.
That coffee table is amazing! Love it!
I guess I'll have to rethink my plan to have Google decorate my house...
I would say credenza with others, but the way the door pulls come together looks, dare I say . . . vaginal.
I do like the desk though.
Yes, that simply IS the most beautiful credenza in the world. The rest? Meh...double meh...!
The credenza is lovely; the rest is horrible! I see someone just ahead of me has posted the same message, but I am still posting this!
And that "most beautiful painting" is seriously trite and borderline ugly.
The dining table would make a nice coffee table. I like the cute kitty in the painting. Other than that,Google has bad taste.
The bed (but in black) and the ouija board of course!
Whew! It all belongs in a bonfire.
The credenza isn't offensive but its a lot more the most AT credenza in the world than it is the most beautiful. I wouldn't have it.
I like the desk more. I would at least have it in my house.
And the lamp is silly but I'd have it before that credenza.
It would seem that Google used an artificial intelligence program to make the selections. The output vaguely reminds me of the quality of their online language translation tools. Close and sometimes you wonder how well they understand language at all. FUN article all the same.
Credenza and desk are both pretty fabulous... but they do make a strange pair.
I didn't notice the resemblance of the credenza to a vagina (which others pointed out), but I can only imagine how embarrassing it would be if unbeknown to you everyone who walked into your house thought your furniture looked like genitalia.
Black chairs are awesome.
The coffee table is a weird thing..... It's not what you regularly consider conventionally beautiful...but you can't stop being attracted to it.
love the credenza. love the desk.
LMAO @ the most beautiful painting!
Don't blame Google. It only finds things that others have tagged as "most beautiful." That means that somewhere there are people who really do think these items are beautiful!
I only like the credenza... or I did until some mentioned genitalia.
Is this a joke? They are all awful.
I love the credenz and the Japanese style dining table.
The credenza could have been nice if it weren't for that *somethin'-somethin'* in the middle. It's like telling me "open me up please". Gross.
Hilarious! Everybody should remember this when they tag things online!!!
I do kinda like the bed, or at least I would have as a child -- now, not so much. (Well I still like it, I just know I couldn't LIVE with it...)
love the wallpaper... and the kitten (JUST the kitten!)
