The French call it faux bois, or "false wood" as it translates into English. It can be a playful decorative element for pillows, wallpaper, or in this case, a quilt. Using two different colors of faux bois fabric, it's definitely the cooler grandchild of the more common patchwork quilts we're used to seeing.
